Cold Cleaning

Many of us associate fresh, clean laundry with using the hot water setting on our washing machines. Hotter water must mean cleaner laundry, right? WRONG! Most clothing will be sufficiently cleaned using the cold water setting on our machines. Did you know that approximately ninety percent of the energy required to wash our clothes just goes into heating the water? The hotter the water, the more energy we’re consuming. If you just cannot bring yourself to use cold water, then at least switch to warm water which will significantly reduce your energy usage.  Reducing energy consumption of course, will save money. So take another step in your efforts to be more earth friendly. Clean green by going COLD turkey with the hot water setting on your washing machine!
